Luis Figo’s class on the Champions Promenade

Portoguese Luis Figo is set to become one of the football legends who will leave their footprints on the Champions Promenade in Monte Carlo next October 10.

Amazing right winger, Figo began his career with Sporting Lisboa (1989-95) before leaving towards Spain, where he played for FC Barcelona (1995-2000) and Real Madrid CF (2000-05). He ended his glorious career in Italy with FC Internazionale (2005-2009). He won every kind of title: in 2002 he led Real Madrid CF to the Champions League triumph, while in 1997 he won the European Cup Winners’ Cup for FC Barcelona. In 2000 he was named Ballon d’Or and in 2001 Fifa World Player of the Year. Figo also won 127 caps for Portugal, reaching the semi-final at the 2006 World Cup (best result ever from 1966) and the final at 2004 European Cup. Today, he works closely with FC Internazionale, serving as an ambassador for the club at functions across Europe.

Luis Figo will receive 2011 Golden Foot career award with Ruud Gullit, Rabah Madjer and Abedi Pelé.
